About us

Over a hundred years on the American intersection.

OUR HERITAGE

A century of American infrastructure.

Eagle is the oldest name in American traffic control. Eagle has been part of how American cities and towns manage the movement of people and goods for over a century. The Eagle logo on the cabinet today is the same logo that sat at intersections through the post-war boom, through the rise of the interstate system, through Apollo, and through every infrastructure cycle since.

1921 to the 1960s. The American intersection takes shape.

Eagle Signal Company is founded in 1921 in the early electromechanical era of American urban safety infrastructure. The company starts in fire alarm boxes. Within five years, traffic control is added to the line. By 1929, Eagle is established as a dedicated traffic-control brand. Eagle controllers go into the intersections of every major American city through the post-war expansion of America's roadways. In the 1960s, the same engineering discipline that made Eagle a household name in traffic control is applied to a different challenge: Eagle supplies ground and in-flight controllers for NASA's Apollo program. The hardware that helped land humans on the moon shares a name with the hardware that managed rush hour back home.

1997 to 2013. Stewardship across owners.

In 1997, Siemens acquires Eagle from Mark IV and renames the business Eagle Traffic Control Systems. The Eagle brand remains, but inside a global conglomerate. In 2013, the Eagle business is purchased by MoboTrex, then operating under the Brown Traffic name. For the next decade, Eagle is stewarded as MoboTrex's branded manufacturing arm. Same products. Same Eagle nameplate on the cabinet. Different roof.

2022. A new home in Pflugerville.

Eagle manufacturing moves from Austin's Howard Lane to a new 101,000 square foot facility in Pflugerville, Texas, the largest dedicated traffic signal and cabinet manufacturing operation in the United States. The move modernizes production, expands capacity, and prepares Eagle for the infrastructure investment cycle ahead.

2026. Eagle steps back into its own identity.

As the federal Build America, Buy America requirements reshape how American infrastructure is sourced, and as the Viant federation expands its national distribution footprint, the strategic and brand logic becomes clear. Eagle deserves to operate as a distinct brand again. In 2026, Eagle Traffic Control is re-established as a standalone manufacturing entity dedicated to American-made traffic signal hardware, sold through MoboTrex and a national network of distribution partners, serving intersections from Maine to California.

MANUFACTURING

Two American facilities. One manufacturing philosophy.

Eagle's manufacturing footprint sits in two American cities, each anchored to a hundred-plus years of combined product heritage. Both make hardware that has to last decades in the field. Both staff their lines with American workers. Both ship product that meets Buy America standards without exception.
